cPanel Addon Domain Folder Structure

When adding a "Addon" Domain in cPanel, the location for files for the Addon Domain will be in a subfolder under your main domain public_html folder. Your addon domain URL appears as "myaddondomain.com". Addon domains should not affect your main domain hosting.

You may create email accounts, redirects, etc. with cPanel. Addon Domains do not have their own cPanel login.

Addon URLs

Creating an Addon domain creates a hosting entry for subdomain from the main domain for your cPanel login as well as adding the new domain to  the account. Once added, there should be three ways to see the addon Domain.

  • Addon Domain: http://myaddondomain.com
  • Subdomain: http://myaddondomain.maindomain.com
  • Subfolder: http://maindomain.com/myaddondomain.com/

Note: Creating an Addon Domain does not register the domain or add the domain to the DNS Server system. Please register your Addon domain and point DNS for the domain to the same locations as your main domain prior to creating the Addon Domain.
