How to Install WordPress in cPanel based Hosting

You should be able to easily install WordPress as a cPAddon with cPanel’s Site Software interface (cPanel >> Home >> Software >> Site Software).

To install WordPress in cPanel do the following:

  1. Navigate to cPanel’s Site Software interface (cPanel >> Home >> Software >> Site Software).

  2. To receive a notice when AVATAVA updates are available for WordPress, click the "here" link in the notice "Your account is not configured to receive notifications when updates for your installs are available. Click here to turn it on"

  3. Click WordPress.

  4. Enter the requested information.

    • To install WordPress directly into a domain’s document root, you must leave the installation URL’s path blank (default). This will overwrite the files already in the document root. If you wish to install to /wordpress/ or any other folder instead of the domain root, Click " Show Advanced Configuration" to change this location. Set the path to blank (nothing) to install at the root domain level, or enter /wordpress or /blog for an alternate location. Note: If you choose an already existing folder in your account, files will be overwritten in that folder.
  5. Click Install.

  6. When the WordPress installation finishes, use your web browser to view the location that you entered in Step 4.

    • For example, if you installed WordPress in the https://domain.com/wordpress/ directory, browse to the http://domain.com/wordpress/ URL.
